FLORENCE, Ala. – North Alabama Softball is providing the perfect stocking stuffer this holiday season, as the Lions announced Monday they will host the Alabama Crimson Tide on March 26, 2025 at the Florence Sportsplex.
Tickets are on sale immediately and can be purchased here.
“I cannot wait to host Alabama in Florence again this spring,” said UNA head coach Ashley Cozart, who enters her 12th season at the helm. “The atmosphere we had two years ago was electric. It was one of my all time favorite games as a head coach. I can’t thank Coach Murphy enough for agreeing to come back. Our goal is to pack the park and aim for 5,000 fans or more. It will be a great night for softball and our community!”
On March 14, 2023, UNA hosted Alabama at the Florence Sportsplex and broke the all-time attendance record with over 4,000 fans. Alabama, who was ranked No. 13 at the time, won a tight ballgame by a 5-2 final. UNA took a lead into the fourth inning of that game.
“We are thrilled to partner with the City of Florence Parks and Recreation Department to host another major event at the Florence Sportsplex,” said UNA Director of Athletics Dr. Josh Looney. “After the 2023 softball game vs. Alabama drew a UNA-record 4,009 fans, we look forward to an even bigger event in 2025 that showcases top-tier softball and The Shoals community.”
UNA will announce the rest of the 2025 schedule in early January. The season begins February 7.
