It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Irene Patricia Duren, a beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and friend. Irene was born to Willis Dee Gerdy Vance and Gladys E. Boston Vance and was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on
Irene was a woman of faith whose life was marked by her love for God and her unwavering devotion to her family. She shared a wonderful life with her husband, Darrell Duren, and was a proud mother and grandmother who cherished her son and grandson deeply.
Professionally, Irene was a skilled and dedicated bookkeeper who approached her work with care and precision. Outside of her career, she found joy in the simple, beautiful things in life. She had a passion for plants, a love for country music, and a special talent for cooking, bringing warmth and comfort to her loved ones through her meals.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of North Alabama for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time.
Irene’s kindness, faith, and loving spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 30th, 2024, at Moss Funeral Home beginning at 12:30 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m.
May she rest in peace and find eternal joy in the presence of the Lord.
