CULLMAN, Ala. – A Cullman man was arrested in the early morning hours of Saturday, Dec. 21, after allegedly attempting to elude law enforcement. Another suspect ran out of his shoes – literally.

According to the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop near U.S. Highway 278 on the west side of Cullman on Saturday, Dec. 21 after midnight. Sheriff Matt Gentry said the driver eventually stopped, but a short foot pursuit ensued.

“Once the vehicle stopped, the driver and passenger fled the scene on foot,” Gentry said.

The driver was located and identified as Shane Allen Freeman, 33.

Freeman is charged with unlawful possession of dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, attempting to elude and four traffic violations.

Freeman’s passenger has not been located; efforts to identify him continue.

A pair of boots (presumably belonging to said passenger) was “run out of” at the scene. They can be picked up by the owner at the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office.
