Billy Parson, a devoted family man and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024 at the age of 81. Born and raised in Hanceville, Billy lived a life rich with hard work, passion, and connection to the land he loved.

Billy’s life was shaped by his love for the outdoors and the simple joys of farming. Whether tending to his cows, working on his land, or cultivating crops, he found joy in the rhythm of rural life. An avid fisherman, Billy cherished every moment spent on the river and deep-sea fishing adventures.

After dedicating over 20 years to Cullman Products, Billy retired to pursue his true passions—fishing, camping, and cheering on his beloved Auburn Tigers football team. Saturdays in the fall were filled with excitement and pride as he rooted for his team.

Billy’s long-time friendship with Johnny Weldon was a testament to the value he placed on companionship. Together, they shared countless memories farming, deep-sea fishing, working on tractors, running trotlines, and embracing life’s many adventures. Their bond was one of mutual respect, laughter, and shared experiences.

Billy’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His love for nature, his dedication to hard work, and his warm, welcoming spirit will never be forgotten.

Survivors include his children, Shannon Erwin (Claude), Billy Wayne Parson (Amanda), Joey Ray Parson; grandchildren, Aaron Chapman (Wendy), Nicholas Chapman (Tara), Alex Parson, Dylan Parson, Brady Cole Parson; great grandchildren, Skylar Chapman, Hayven Chapman, Cade Chapman, Rhyann Chapman, Walker Chapman; sisters, Kathy Bell, Lynn Phillips; and his nephew, Kenny Parson.
