MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. – A Hanceville man was killed in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5:09 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14. Alabama State Troopers identified the victim as David C. Acuff, 40.
A media release from ALEA said Acuff was fatally injured when the 2008 Chevrolet AVEO5 he was driving left the roadway, struck a mailbox, then struck a culvert before overturning. It said Acuff was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Union Hill Church Road near Pitts Road, approximately 3 miles west of Eva, in Morgan County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
