A graveside service for Elizabeth Ann Hayes, 61, of Hanceville will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, December 3rd at Mountain Grove Congregational Christian Church Cemetery. The family will welcome friends for visitation on Tuesday, December 3rd from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home. 

Born on November 30, 1963, in Cullman, to Wanda Butler and Freddie Nickens; Elizabeth was a devoted wife to Larry Hayes, a loving mother to Bridget Kent, dedicated grandmother to Chloe Barbee and Callie Glasscock, and beloved first-born daughter to Wanda Butler. She had a remarkable 30-year career at USA Healthcare, culminating in her appointment as administrator, a testament to her dedication and leadership. Elizabeth’s selfless nature and tireless dedication to caregiving inspired countless lives, leaving a legacy of compassion and kindness. She passed away peacefully on November 30, 2024, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. 

For Elizabeth, cruises and vacations were more than just get-away’s; they were opportunities to strengthen bonds with her family and create lasting life-long memories. 

Elizabeth Ann Hayes is survived by her husband, Larry Hayes; mother, Wanda Butler, daughter, Bridget (Amber) Kent; sisters, Amber Butler and Hannah Knight; brother, Jerry (Wendy) Nickens; granddaughters, Chloe Barbee and Callie (Jase) Glasscock; niece, Miranda Nickens; great-niece, Lana Pigg; and great-nephew, Hayden Pigg. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Freddie Nickens; and sisters, Regina Lynn and Sheila Denise.
