CULLMAN, Ala. – The fifth annual Jones Chapel Merry Market is set to take place on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Old Jones Chapel School gym, now the Cullman County School Board CARE building. Admission to the Merry Market is free, and the event will feature a wide array of vendors offering unique, handmade crafts, gifts and seasonal items.
Event organizer Christie Thomas shared her excitement for this year’s market, “We always have a great turnout of wonderful vendors and customers! Everyone looks forward to it, and we have many repeat vendors. We only allow a certain number of like crafts to keep a good variety of vendors for the best shopping experience for our shoppers.”
As the Merry Market heads into its fifth year, Thomas credited the event’s success to the strong community support and the exceptional quality of the vendors. “The event has gone smoothly each year and has been very busy and well attended. I attribute the success of the craft show to beautiful grassroots support that our community is known for, and the great vendors that have so much to offer.”
Over the years, the Merry Market has attracted not only local shoppers, but also visitors from out-of-state and larger cities in the region. “We’ve even had many people drive from out of state to attend our craft show, and many from the larger cities nearby,” she added. “It’s truly hard to beat the vibe that surrounds a well-organized community event.”
A concession stand offering snacks, drinks and lunch will also be available to shoppers. Food trucks are welcome to participate in the event to add to the variety of food available. Additionally, most vendors will be equipped to accept credit cards as well as cash, making it convenient for attendees to shop.
