WADLEY, Ala. – After earning a dramatic win over Hubbertville in round one, the Meek Tigers hit the road Friday night to face Wadley in round two. However, the Bulldogs got off to a fast start and they scored early and often on their way to a 55-22 win over Meek.

A pair of touchdown runs put Wadley in front 14-0 at the end of the first quarter but the Tigers were able to get on the board when Hunter Wyatt took a handoff 45 yards for a touchdown, trimming the lead to 14-6 early in the second.

Unfortunately for Meek, the Bulldogs were able to put up 27 unanswered points in the second quarter and went into the locker room leading the Tigers 41-6 at halftime. Wadley pulled ahead 48-6 midway through the third quarter, but Meek was able to get some more points on the board when Jordan Phillips ran in a 12-yard touchdown and a two-point conversion to make it 48-14.

Another Wadley touchdown extended the lead to 55-14 early in the fourth quarter but the Tigers responded with a 55-yard touchdown run by Jordan Phillips. Evan McCay hit Mason Powe in the end zone to make it 55-22 but Meek couldn’t chip away any more than that and the Tigers’ season came to an end at 8-4.
