Obituary: Rebecca “Becky” McAnalley

Rebecca “Becky” McAnalley left this world for her heavenly home Tuesday, November 12, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 7, 1959, to John Wesley “Bo” Wilbanks and Willie Jo Wilbanks.  

Becky was the most loving mother, nanny, sister, and aunt. She loved her family fiercely and devoted her life to further the kingdom of God through children’s ministry. Her smile was contagious, her creativity was boundless and her heart overflowed with compassion for everyone around her. No amount of suffering could dim the light of God she radiated through her love, joy and faithfulness. 

Becky was preceded in death by her grandparents, Virgil Columbus Wilbanks, Emma Elizabeth Ann Wilbanks, William Andrew Buchanan and Josephine Moore Buchanan; her parents, John Wesley Wilbanks and Willie Jo Wilbanks; her sisters Cheryl Penny Moody and Janease Wilbanks; her brother, Stephen Carl Moody; and son, Kenneth Wayne Culpepper.  

Survivors include her daughters, Amanda Lynn McAnalley, Leah Jo (Tim) Dwyer; grandchildren, Troy Branson McCormick, Lexington Lynnlee Collins, Deaglan Liam Dwyer and Colin Padraig Dwyer; brothers, John Wesley Wilbanks Jr., Virgil Andrew (Marcy) Wilbanks; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. 

Becky’s family has been inspired by her heart for children and asks that donations be made in her honor to Cullman Caring for Kids in lieu of flowers. www.cullmancaringforkids.com. 

The family will receive visitors at Mountain View Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. with services beginning at 2 p.m. with Kenneth Shelton and Dale Banks officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Pallbearers include Ben Gillespie, Brett Alloway, Colby Duke, Colin Dwyer, Deaglan Dwyer, Ethan Frasier, Ian Moody and Trace Moody.
