BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Cullman hit the road for round one of the 6A state playoffs Friday night and unfortunately for Bearcat fans, they ran into second-ranked Parker. The Thundering Herd wasted no time jumping out to an early lead and kept the ‘Cats out of the end zone the rest of the way, advancing to round two with a 35-0 win over Cullman.

A 5-yard touchdown run gave Parker a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter and just a couple plays into the ensuing Cullman possession, a pick-six put the Thundering Herd in front 14-0. Both teams exchanged punts over the next few possessions, but another touchdown run put Parker ahead 21-0 early in the second quarter. The Thundering Herd found the end zone one more time just before the end of the period to take a 28-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Parker got another touchdown on the board early in the third quarter to extend the lead to 35-0 and neither team was able to get more points on the board the rest of the way, bringing the final score to 35-0 in favor of the Thundering Herd and ending the season for the Bearcats at 5-6.
