4 Wallace State Volleyball players recognized with postseason awards

HANCEVILLE, Ala. — Four Wallace State Community College Volleyball players have been recognized by the Alabama Community College Conference for postseason awards, as voted on by coaches.

Chloe Jackson, a sophomore from Athens, was recognized as All-Region, North Offensive Player of the Year and All-North First Team. Kailey Dickerson, a freshman from Wellington, was also named to the All-North First Team. Ali Price, a freshman from Rainsville, and Abby McDonald, a freshman from Cullman, were both named the All-North Second Team.

For the season Jackson, a middle blocker from Athen High School, is second overall in the ACCC for kills, with 419, and she has a kill per set percentage of 2.51. She is third overall for block assists (38) and seventh for hitting percentage (.342).

Dickerson, an outside hitter from Alexandria High School, is first overall (3.60) and in the conference (3.42) for kills per set and total attacks per set. She has tallied 544 kills to lead the ACCC in that category as well. She is sixth overall in and digs (449) and seventh in service aces (55).

Price, a setter from Plainview High School, is second in assists at 1,028 and sixth in assists per set at 6.12.

McDonald, a defensive specialist from Fairview High School, is first overall in digs with 553.

The Lions finished the 2024 season as runner-up at the ACCC 2024 Volleyball Championship Tournament.

Jackson, McDonald and Rachel Mecklenburg, a freshman from Madison, were all named to the ACCC All-Tournament Team. The Lions finished the season with a 37-11 overall record and 11-3 conference record. Head Coach Randy Daniel’s overall record stands at a historic 670-138, making him the winningest coach in the ACCC.
