CLEVELAND, Ala. – Holly Pond hit the road to wrap up its 2024 season against Cleveland Friday night and the Broncos capped their season with a bang, racing past the Panthers 48-13.

A 12-yard touchdown run by Brody Howard gave Holly Pond an early, 6-0 lead and Boston Gibbs followed with a 14-yard touchdown run of his own to make it 12-0 with just under four minutes to play in the first quarter. Gibbs’ second touchdown of the night, this one from 15 yards out, stretched the lead to 18-0 and Zayne Faulkner punched in the two-point conversion to make it 20-0 at the start of the second quarter.

Leading 20-7 at the start of the third quarter, Holly Pond added to its lead when Sawyer Olinger took one to the end zone from 34 yards out for a touchdown and Gibbs picked up the two-point conversion to make it 28-7. Faulkner followed with a touchdown and a two-point run later in the third to put the Broncos in front 36-7 going into the fourth.

A 49-yard touchdown pass from Olinger to Gibbs made it 42-7 with just under 11 minutes on the clock. From the quarterback position, Gibbs scored on a 28-yard touchdown run and then hit Cade Allbright in the end zone for the two-point conversion to give Holly Pond a 48-7 lead with less than eight minutes to play. Cleveland was able to find the end zone in the final minutes of the game, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Bronco lead and Holly Pond capped its season with a 48-13 win over the Panthers.
