CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Public Library held a town hall meeting in the Cullman City Hall auditorium on Tuesday, Oct. 22, to allow the community to meet the architects from Birmingham-based Williams Blackstock Architectswho will work on building design and renovations and/or new plans for the library’s main branch.

Cullman County Public Library System Director Amber Thornton shared with attendees, “We’re in the beginning stage right now and they want to know what the community thinks and what the community wants before they make their plans. So, this is just a come-and-go event. You can walk around and talk to them, and they’ve done four boards with different questions and some images of the different options. This is just about letting us know what you would like to see and giving us your feedback on what style you want it to have.”

Cullman County Public Library System Assistant Director Shelby Creekmore shared how grateful she was for the attendance at the meeting and how excited she is for the future of the library.

“The architects will use the information they received from the community to come up with watercolor renderings of our future building,” Creekmore said. “The next step in the project will be our campaign kickoff, which will take place in the coming weeks.”

More information will be released soon about the kick-off event and the community can contribute to the building fund by visiting https://givebutter.com/CCPL
