PREP FOOTBALL: Cold Springs falls to Falkville 30-12

BREMEN, Ala. – The Cold Springs Eagles were back home for their regular season finale against Falkville Friday night and despite taking an early lead, the Eagles were unable to keep pace with the Blue Devils down the stretch and fell to Falkville 30-12.

After a scoreless first quarter, Cold Springs got on the board early in the second with a touchdown pass to Cason Alexander that made it 6-0. However, Falkville responded with 16 unanswered points to take a 16-6 lead into the locker room at the halftime break.

A touchdown run by Matt Williams trimmed the Blue Devils’ lead to 16-12 early in the third quarter but Falkville was able to move out in front 24-12 by the start of the fourth. The Blue Devils put together one more scoring drive in the final period to secure a 30-12 win over the Eagles.

With the loss, Cold Springs finishes the season at 4-6.
