HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Mud Creek Arts & Crafts Festival in downtown Hanceville went off without a hitch Saturday, bringing the community together with a wide variety of street vendors offering unique goods and plenty of family fun. From frozen candy and handmade cutting boards to 3D-printed items and homemade foods, the festival had something for everyone. Attendees also enjoyed their favorite food truck options. Kids had a blast with barrel rides and a duo of inflatable slides, giving parents and other caregivers a chance to relax as their little ones burned off some energy.
The weather played its part, providing sunshine throughout the event, which saw a healthy crowd throughout the day. One of the highlights of the festival was the return of the famous Seafood World hushpuppies, which drew people from all across Cullman, with many festivalgoers unable to resist stopping by for a taste of the nostalgic food.
Overall, the day was a resounding success, highlighting successes within the community through the display of their wares and services. Kids giggled freely on the barrel rides and inflatable slides, the smell of barbeque and hushpuppies filled the air and smiles were abundant as people strolled through the festival. The festival had done its part in bringing the community together.
“Although attendance was down a bit, likely due to the football games, we had a steady stream of visitors, and everyone I spoke to had a great time,” said Nolan Bradford, event organizer for Friends of the Festival.
As the festival wrapped up, Bradford expressed his gratitude for everyone who helped make the event a success, “On behalf of Hanceville Friends of the Festival and our downtown merchants, we’d like to offer a heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, vendors, food vendors, City employees and volunteers who helped make this year’s event possible. We’ll be sending out information for the upcoming Irish Festival as the date gets closer. Hope to see everyone again next year!”
