CULLMAN, Ala. – The main branch of the Cullman County Public Library System hosted a bake sale recently, sponsored by The Friends of the Public Libraries of Cullman County. CCPLS Assistant Director CCPLS Shelby Creekmore said the $180 raised will go toward the library’s building fund.

“The Bouldin family (Rebecca Bouldin is a member of the Friends) organized the event, but several families participated,” Creekmore said. “They offered goods like muffins, cookies, candy bags and pies that the kids made. We are currently in phase one of planning our future library building, so we are collecting data and fundraising for the much-needed renovations and additions.”

Creekmore said the best way for the community to get involved at this stage is to come to the community meeting Tuesday, Oct. 22, between 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Cullman City Hall. Residents can provide input on what the future library should look like and provide.

“As for donations, we now have a GiveButter campaign, which will be available to the public for the first time at Tuesday’s meeting and will be posted to our social media and website,” Creekmore said. “We are so appreciative to have the community supporting the library as we transition to new things for the future.”

For more information, or to donate, visit the library at 200 Clark St. NE, or call 256-734-2720.
