CULLMAN, Ala. – Multiple donation drop-off sites for Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton victims are located across Cullman County.
R.E. Garrison is one business that hosted a site and has now sent three trailer loads of materials to North Carolina.
Engagement Support and Social Media Specialist Taylor Foshee shared on Wednesday, Oct.16, that local donations had made it to the state.
“Over the weekend, drivers Eric, Pattie and Greg set a course for Asheville, North Carolina, and delivered three trailers full of supplies directly into the hands of the Cajun Navy,” Foshee said. “These supplies are being taken up into the mountains of North Carolina to victims of Hurricane Helene who cannot reach civilization due to road conditions. We want to publicly thank each person who had a hand in donating, organizing and spreading awareness for the supplies that we donated. R.E. Garrison has received a massive outpour of love and appreciation. We are working each day to become better for our trucking family and communities, but we could not do it without the help of those who enable us to do so, and we could never say thank you enough.”
R.E. Garrison Engagement Manager Annette Munger said that on Oct. 11, it announced the trailers were full, and as a last-minute addition to the already two full trailers, Cullman County Schools rounded up enough jackets and warm clothing to make a third full trailer.
“Our drivers set a course for Asheville, North Carolina, where the two trailers full of supplies would be put directly into the hands of the Cajun Navy and the third trailer of coats and clothing would be donated to a church that would be giving them to the community,” Munger said. “R.E. Garrison is blessed to be a trucking company, but more than that, a place that gives to those that give to us. Since delivering our material donations, we have continued to receive monetary donations from Gwen Parker with the Cullman Elks Lodge and surrounding area lodges. If you would like to give monetarily, please reach out to marketing@regarrison.com.”
