Funeral Service for Alton Wallace Pitzing, age 88, of Cullman, will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Seventh Street Baptist Church with Eric Martin officiating; burial at Cullman City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Seventh Street Baptist Church.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Pitzing passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Cullman Regional. He was born, February 16, 1936, to Roy John Pitzing and Bertha Mae Hathcock Pitzing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Pitzing
He was survived by his wife, Patricia Pitzing; children, Kathy (Steve) Sides, Michael (Sara) Pitzing, Leah (Patrick) McClusky; sister, Gladys Barnett; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Alton and Pat met in San Francisco in 1959, their 64th wedding anniversary will be celebrated on May 14th, 2025. Mr. Pitzing was a long time member of Seventh Street Baptist Church, dedicated member of the Cullman Lions Club , and served in the military police for the United States Army.
