DODGE CITY, Ala. – For nearly four years, early October in Dodge City has meant that it’s time for the spook and horror lovers to head out to Dodge City Tattoo Company for its annual Halloween Horror and Art Market.
The creepy event is held in early October each year as to not interfere with any church activities that DCTC’s neighbor, Life Church, might host when the clock ticks nearer to Halloween. The market is a temporary home for the macabre, gory and disturbed. While the event itself is horror themed, not all vendors ascribe to the Halloween lifestyle, and, in the past, they have offered varieties of children’s clothes for the tiny terror lover, sweet spooky stuffies to snuggle after scares and handmade candy bags for the big Halloween haul.
In a social media post, DCTC shared, “Prepare yourself for frightful fun and eerie enchantment as we invite you to our Halloween and Horror Art Market. Dive into the macabre and marvel at a chilling collection of horror-themed artworks, crafts, and oddities from talented artists and creators.”
The studio revealed that, along with the various vendors, booths and goods that will be available, its artists and piercers will be on-hand to fulfill a new ink itch or the urge to get a new piercing with tattoo and piercing specials and designs.
Frightful food trucks like Sachmo’s BBQ will be slinging servings to guests as they peruse the afternoons haunts from vendors with crochet and handmade oddities like dissected frogs from Honey’s Hobgoblins and Replay Toys out of Huntsville with an assortment of vintage and new Halloween and horror toys.
Horror fanatics and lovers of all things spooky are encouraged to attend the market. The Halloween Horror and Art Market will open at noon on Oct. 12 at Dodge City Tattoo Company, located at 501 Alabama Highway 69 S, Suite E. For more information or questions about the event, call 256-887-1800.
