CULLMAN, Ala. – The fifth annual Little Pink Dress event, benefiting the Cullman County Bosom Buddies Foundation, Inc. (CCBBF), is set to take place on Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Although the event is sold out, supporters can still contribute to the cause by making donations that will directly assist cancer patients in Cullman County.

The CCBBF, a 100% nonprofit organization, is entirely volunteer run and is dedicated to helping Cullman-area residents undergoing cancer treatment. Little Pink Dress serves as a yearly fundraiser used to help residents who are taking part in cancer treatments no matter where their treatments take place.

“We help all types of cancer patients: men, women and children. We meet a need that no other organization helps with. We help with basic living expenses through the Nurse Navigator at Cullman Regional,” explained CCBBF Vice President Jennifer Limerick.

For Limerick, the mission of the organization is personal. “I personally am a breast cancer survivor six years now, and when I was diagnosed and had my surgery one of our Bosom Buddy outreach ladies visited me in the hospital and gave me lots of information and some items that I needed that I didn’t realize I needed until I had my surgery. This small group of ladies do a lot for this community and when I recovered from my cancer I wanted to get involved and help others, too. “

Though the event is sold out, the CCBBF encourages those who wish to help to donate. All proceeds from donations go toward helping local cancer patients with their basic living expenses while they undergo treatment, alleviating some of the financial burdens that often accompany a cancer diagnosis.

If you’d like to donate, contributions can be made to the Cullman County Bosom Buddies Foundation, P.O. Box 123, Vinemont, AL. For more information, email CCBBFinc@gmail.com or visit www.cullmanbosombuddies.com.

For those attending the Little Pink Dress event, check-in will be at the north entrance of Cotton Creek. A detailed schedule is provided in the article flyer.
