Funeral services for Spurgeon Henry Jochum (Silver Spur) 82 of Cullman, AL, will be Sept. 19, with a visitation from 1 – 3 p.m. followed by a Graveside Service at 3:30 p.m. at Cullman Memory Gardens. Spurgeon went to meet his Lord on Sept. 16, 2024. Spurgeon was born to Willie and Evolena Jochum and was raised in Cullman County. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Essie Clara Ellis.
Spurgeon worked on the family farm where he milked cows and farmed as a young man and started driving an 18 wheeler and drove for 28 years. He loved taking care of his cows and watching them grow.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years Marie Jochum, five children; Ladana Hampton, Patti Jochum Rosson, Amanda Gargus, Ross (April) Jochum, and Chris (Trish) Cobb. He was a proud grandpa/pawpaw to 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
