CARBON HILL, Ala. – The Hanceville Bulldogs were on the road Friday night for a regional matchup at Carbon Hill and after struggling in their first three games this fall, the Bulldogs returned home from Carbon Hill with their first win of the season. The win over Carbon Hill is the first of Head Coach Levi Estes’ tenure.

After a scoreless opening quarter, Marquies Leeth capped a Bulldogs scoring drive with a 5-yard touchdown run to put Hanceville in front 6-0 midway through the second. Ashton Hurst punched one into the end zone from a yard out in the final seconds of the second quarter and Hanceville went into the locker room leading 12-0 at the halftime break.

After a scoreless third quarter, Hurst dove into the end zone for his second touchdown of the night to make it an 18-0 game with a little over 10 minutes remaining in the fourth. Leeth’s second touchdown of the night came in the final moments of the game and capped a 24-0 road win for the Bulldogs.

Hanceville will return home next week to host another regional matchup against Oakman.
