Celebrating the Joyful Spirit of Sebastian Elias Grant

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sebastian Elias Grant, the beloved one-year-old son of Alba and Christian Grant, who left us unexpectedly on September 8th, 2024, due to an undetected heart condition.

Sebastian, affectionately known as “Seba,” brought immense joy and love to everyone around him. Known to many as the happiest baby, Sebastian was always smiling and hardly ever cried. His friendly nature and joyful spirit touched the hearts of everyone who met him. He had a tender habit of reaching up to gently touch the face of whomever was holding him, a sweet gesture that made him even more endearing to those around him.

Sebastian is survived by his loving parents, Alba and Christian Grant, and his devoted sister, Lilianna Grant. He was cherished by his grandparents, Cecilia and Rafael Holguin, and Marshall Sterling and Victoria Riley. His great-grandmother, Felicia Ortega Gomez, also held a special place in his life.

Sebastian’s life was enriched by the love of his aunts Liz (Tariq), Saraida (Jalen), and Ananda (Diego), and his uncles Manuel (Christy), Ziras (Emily), Israel (Stefany) and Christopher. He is also survived by several cousins who brought joy and companionship into his short life, and who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Though his time with us was far too short, Sebastian left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His giggles, his wide-eyed wonder, and his love for exploring the world around him will be forever remembered by his family and friends. His bright spirit brought endless joy, and we will never forget the warmth and light he brought into our lives.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Cullman Regional Medical Center for their care. Special thanks to Mike Pepple and the staff at Moss Service Funeral Home for their support, and to Ron Faust and the staff of Stone Bridge Farms for their kindness and generosity during this difficult time. We are also deeply grateful to Pastor Andy Heis and the congregation of Desperation Church for their support and comfort.

A viewing will be held on September 11th, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home, with a funeral service following at 2 p.m. to honor Sebastian’s life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to gofund.me/e7f4944c in Sebastian’s memory. “Though his time was brief, his impact on our hearts will last forever.”
