CULLMAN, Ala. – A Holly Pond man was killed in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:40 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, on Interstate 65 North.
Alabama State Troopers identified the victim as Derek L. Humphries, 36.
Troopers said Humphries was fatally injured when the 2020 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle he was operating left the roadway and struck a guardrail. They said Humphries was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred near the 316 mile marker, approximately 3 miles north of Vinemont, in Cullman County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
