SYLVANIA, Ala. – After putting together an explosive offensive performance against Hanceville a week ago, the Holly Pond Broncos were back on the field Friday night, opening up region play at Sylvania. Unfortunately for the Holly Pond crowd, the Broncos didn’t have as much success this week and they dropped their region opener to the Rams 48-6.
Sylvania led 13-0 at the end of the first quarter and continued adding to its lead in the second, extending the lead to 41-0 at the halftime break. Trailing 48-0 in the fourth quarter, Broncos quarterback Sawyer Olinger sprinted into the end zone for a 36-yard touchdown, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the early lead and Holly Pond fell to the Rams on the road 48-6.
The Broncos will be back home to host Brindlee Mountain next week.
