Andrew Michael Harris, 58, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born on November 23, 1965, in Huntsville, Alabama, to Ralph M. Harris and Barbara (Barnett) Harris.
A graduate of Cullman High School’s Class of 1984, Andrew had a deep love for science fiction and Auburn football, passions he carried throughout his life. From 1996 to 2001, Andrew honorably served his country in the United States Army as a Systems Operator, primarily stationed in Korea. During his time in service, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Marksman Badge, reflecting his dedication and discipline.
Andrew is preceded in death by his father, Ralph “Andy” Harris, and his sister, Kim Harris Sapaugh. He is survived by his beloved mother, Barbara Barnett Harris, as well as his nieces, April Zark and Sarah (Jorge) Zaldivar. He was a proud great-uncle to Aidan Zark, Gavin Zark, Kenichi Zaldivar, and Athena Zaldivar, who will cherish his memory.
A graveside service will be held at Duck River Cemetery on Saturday, September 14th, at 1 p.m. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life and honor his legacy.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saving Forgotten Warriors, a Cullman, AL nonprofit dedicated to providing aid to local veterans in need.
