CULLMAN, Ala. – The inaugural “Roost out Childhood Cancer” motocross race will be held Sept. 28-29, at Dodge City MX Park. This exciting weekend event will raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and A-Team Ministries, two foundations focused on providing support for families affected by pediatric cancer.

“We are a group of caring individuals committed to offering spiritual, financial and emotional support to children and their families coping with pediatric cancer. We support these families through a variety of programs including prayer teams, Home Away from Home lodging, financial grants and numerous events and activities,” stated A-Team Ministries on its website

The weekend event kicks off on Friday, Sept. 28, with gates opening at 2 p.m. and karaoke from 7-9.  Saturday’s MX practice will run from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., followed by the Hot Summer Night Race at 4. On Sunday, Sept. 29, the Sweet Home Alabama Race begins at 8 a.m., and the silent auction will start at noon. All proceeds from the auction will go to St. Jude and A-Team Ministries.

Danielle DeVaney, owner of Dodge City MX Park, shared her passion for this cause, “We love St. Jude and A-Team Ministries because they allow parents to not have to worry about medical bills while dealing with their child’s sickness. I am still praying for a cancer cure, but in the meantime, we want to help all the kids that we can.”

Local businesses are encouraged to donate items for the silent auction to support this important cause. The auction preview will take place on Saturday, with bidding officially closing during intermission on Sunday.
