CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman Women Sing is gearing up for an exciting new choral season, and the first rehearsal will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 6:30 p.m. at Seventh Street Baptist Church. The group, consisting of women aged 18 and older from the Cullman area, is open to those who share a love for singing and a passion for community music.

Meeting weekly on Tuesday nights during the fall and spring, Cullman Women Sing prepares for two major concerts each year, typically held in December and May. The group’s repertoire is diverse, encompassing everything from classical and folk to spirituals and contemporary favorites. The previous spring concert featured a selection of Broadway hits, with songs from shows spanning the 1930s to today, including one from a current Broadway production. This fall, the group is set to perform a concert of spirituals and Christmas/holiday favorites.

In addition to their concert performances, members of Cullman Women Sing are given opportunities to participate in local theater productions. Recently, several singers joined the nuns’ chorus in Cullman Community Theatre’s presentation of “The Sound of Music.”
