CULLMAN, Ala. – A group of 20-30 people were posted along U.S. Highway 31 North near the old Quincy’s property, on strike citing unfair labor practices at AT&T.
An un-named Cullman man told The Tribune it was a “bargaining strike” — because there is not someone who is at the table who is able to present negotiations.
“This strike includes 17,000 people in nine states within the AT&T business that work in land line, fiber, construction, office workers and more,” he said.
Locally represented, he said, are workers from Cullman, Birmingham and Huntsville.
“We are striking for unfair labor practice, and bargaining in bad faith,” he said. “This started last Friday at 2 p.m. and we have been out here every day since.”
The group said it will be there until a fair deal is reached.
