VINEMONT, Ala. – The students of Vinemont High School are enjoying new facilities this week. Members of the Cullman County Board of Education, along with Cullman County Schools Superintendent Dr. Shane Barnette, Vinemont Mayor Radginal “Reggie” Dodson and members of the town council stopped by the home of the Eagles on Monday, Aug. 19, to cut the ribbon on a brand new media center, science lab and additional classroom spaces.
Before the renovations, the school was limited in instructional space; the original areas used for the lab and classrooms were constructed with the school nearly 94 years ago. Likewise, the school’s library had been in use for 53 years.
After cutting the ceremonial ribbon to “open” the facilities, Barnette prayed over the students, faculty and staff of the school, asking for health and wisdom for all who use the space.
“I pray you use this new facility to help kids learn and minister to young people and encourage them to learn and achieve all the dreams they’d like to reach one day. Help us to encourage them and help them be successful,” Barnette said. “Thank you for our school board and making this a priority. We thank you for the town here of Vinemont and their support of our schools. We ask these things in your name, amen.”
