Vinemont council tables software talks, prepares for senior luncheon

VINEMONT, Ala. – The Vinemont Town Council on Tuesday resumed discussions on Text MyGov communications software and chose to table the item of business until its next meeting. It also discussed the next senior luncheon.

On Monday, Aug. 19, the council will host its monthly Senior Luncheon at the Vinemont Community Center located at 88 Ridgeway St. from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. This luncheon is open to all area seniors to enjoy, as the council and other local businesses offer lunch, bingo, and prizes to all attendees. The council asks that attendees bring a dessert, if able.

In other business, the council:

  • Approved the Town’s Rebuild Alabama Act FY 2024-2025 Transportation Plan
  • Approved direct support in the amount of $300 to the Cullman County Human Trafficking Task Force
  • Approved Baker Productions Advertisement Package for the upcoming Chillin’-N-Grillin’ BBQ Fest in the amount of $1,500 

The council will hold a budget work session Monday, Aug. 26, at 6 p.m. at Vinemont Town Hall.

The next regular meeting will be Tuesday, Sept. 10. The work session will begin at 5 p.m. with the meeting following at 6.
