CULLMAN, Ala. – A new retail center is under development just north of Urban Cookhouse and Pasquale’s on the northbound side of U.S. Highway 31 and 12th Way North in Cullman. This new development is slated to open in late 2025 if all goes well.

Owned by Bill Poole Realty, the 40,000-square-foot development will be located at 1269 Second Ave. NW (Highway 31). Retail spaces are still available for lease.

BPR Realtor Keith Hall is managing the potential businesses that may be interested in the location.

Redstone Federal Credit Union will act as the anchor business, meaning it will have a larger footprint that other businesses in the new shopping area.

Redstone Vice President of Finance Stephen Simpson said bids were opened last week and should be awarded within two weeks. He said site work will hopefully begin in a month.

“Construction timeline is 365 days,” he said. “Redstone is excited about building in Cullman and looking forward to becoming active in the Cullman community.”

Dale Greer, director of the Cullman Economic Development Agency, stated the new development is actually a redevelopment of an idle industry site.

“The Redstone/Bill Pool Realty project will transform that area over the next couple of years. I see it as another quality project and look forward to seeing the finished product,” said Greer.

As far as a timeline, BPR is shooting for Oct. 31, 2024, to reach the full occupancy acquired before breaking ground.
