Good Hope City Council adopts 4 new Resolutions, reports successful Back-to-School Bash

GOOD HOPE, Ala. – Good Hope’s City Council held its first August meeting at Good Hope City Hall Monday night and adopted four new resolutions.

Resolution No: 017-2024 was the annual resolution to adopt the transportation plan pursuant to the Rebuild Alabama Act and Resolution No: 018-2024 authorized the city to enter into a contract for architectural services for the new multi-use storm shelter project.

Resolution No: 019-2024 will allow the city to enter into a professional service agreement with Waggoner Engineering, Inc. for Site Civil, Stormwater, Ingress-Egress, Parking Design & Construction Support Services at the multi-use storm shelter/community center and Resolution No: 020-2024 authorized the city to execute contracts for professional engineering services for an extension of Daystar Drive.

In addition to the new resolutions, the council also discussed this year’s Back-to-School Bash and was happy to report the highest turnout they’ve ever had for the event. Around 400 people attended this year’s event to enjoy a petting zoo, free haircuts, food, door prizes, free back-to school photos and more.

The Council also announced that the City of Good Hope and the City of Cullman will be working together to pave the portion of Industrial Park Rd. from Stephanie Dr. to Lindsey Rd.

The Good Hope City Council will hold its next regularly scheduled meeting Monday, Aug. 26 at 6:30 p.m. at Good Hope City Hall.
