CULLMAN, Ala. – With the success of its 2023 event, the West Elementary School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is bringing back the Community Block Party on Aug. 29, at the West Elementary School playground. The event will be packed full of activities and games for attendees of all ages and will also include area resource vendors.
PTA President Jessica Stewart said, “This has been such a hard year financially for everyone, so we wanted to help in a way that not only was fun for all kids, but also made it easy to get resources and information to the families in our community that may not know who to turn to for help.”
Cullman’s own Good Samaritan Health Clinic will be on-site, administering health screenings for adult attendees free of charge. Other area nonprofits will offer information on assistance with food, clothing, necessities and other household needs.
Local food trucks, inflatable bounce houses, face painting and more will be available for children and teens.
The Community Block Party is not a West Elementary- or Cullman City Schools-exclusive event. Stewart enthusiastically extended an open invitation to the community.
“We had so much fun last year and had such a good turnout. We hope this year is even better,” shared Stewart. “This is in no way a fundraiser for our PTA, and you do not have to attend West Elementary to come to this event. This event is for everyone.”
The block party kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and runs until 7:30.
