CULLMAN, Ala. – The Peinhardt Living History Farm Foundation will host Peinhardt Living History Farm Days over two days again this year. Peinhardt Farm Day has entertained and educated generations of north Alabamians since the 1990s. This year the event will take place Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 20, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Gates will close one hour before the event ends.

This fall festival teaches all ages what farm life was like in the 1930s and 1940s in north Alabama. Major changes were happening on the family farm during the 30s and 40s when animal power was being replaced with the first tractors and machines. Electricity was being installed in homes in north Alabama. Dedicated volunteers and Peinhardt family teach the community about this historic time using the beautiful working farm of the late Carl and Irene Peinhardt.

Hands-on activities will be demonstrated over 40 acres of the farm. Visitors will come away with armloads of remembrances including pumpkins, cotton, sweet potatoes, blue bird houses, apple pig craft, wooden pegs, crosscut saw rounds, blacksmith branded items and much more.

What better way to celebrate fall than with a stroll through the pumpkin patch, hayrides, tasting warm sorghum syrup, hearing the rhythmic hammer in the blacksmith forge and enjoying local music? Both old and young enjoy seeing and reminiscing about all of the antique farm and home items in the well-stocked museums. Musicians including Matt Huddleston, Cowgirl Up Bluegrass, Justin and Tab, Tim Ricketts and Friends, and God’s Children will be playing throughout the weekend. Also for 2024 we will include more local vendors to sell at Farm Days so look for local crafters, artisans, food vendors, square dancers and musicians set up throughout the farm. Activities will include wagon rides to the field, meeting farm animals, watching cotton being ginned, hearing old time music, walking through the one room schoolhouse, seeing mules plowing, competing in a sack race and much more! Enjoy strolling

through the barnyard, cabins and two museums with antique farm equipment and home items. Enjoy local food trucks and outdoor seating areas.

Farm Days are free for ages 2 and younger, and $10 for all others, cash only. Please leave your pets at home; only service animals are allowed. This is a walking tour with limited accessibility.
