CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Commission at a special-called meeting on Monday, Aug. 5, voted to move voting Precinct 27 from the Johnson’s Crossing Volunteer Fire Department back to the White City Community Center at 1542 County Road 617.

The precinct was moved in 2019 after storms significantly damaged the White City Community Center. Now that the center has been rebuilt, the precinct is back to its original location.

“They’ve got a new building there. They wanted it back in the original location because they’ve got handicap accessories and more available space for parking,” said Cullman County Commission Chairman Jeff Clemons. “We think this will be a great place for voters to have a calm, quiet and larger space to cast their votes.”

The Commission approved Resolution 2024-35, making the move official.

The next Cullman County Commission meeting will be Tuesday, Aug. 13. The work session will begin at 4 p.m. with the meeting beginning at 6.
