WEST POINT, Ala. — West Point’s Emma Kimbril will be a senior will school begins this fall and she has seen her faith continue to grow more and more over the past few years. In this interview, Emma talked about her relationship with God, starting with her favorite Bible verse.
“God means so much to me. My faith has grown so much over the past few years, and after seeing everything He truly does for me, I’m so thankful to be able to call Him my Lord and Savior. I grew up in church, so I always knew about God, but when you trust in Him, you can really see that everything in your life will fall into place,” Kimbril said. “My favorite Bible verse is Ephesians 4:32: ‘And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.’ I love this verse, because it reminds us that Jesus forgave us, so we need to forgive others and be kind to one another.”
She added,
“I think it’s so special to watch others find their faith and trust in Jesus. I’m a member of Bethlehem West Baptist Church, and in just over a year, our youth group has grown so much. So many kids have come thinking they were just going to come and sit with their friends but have left saved. To me, that is so special to watch.”
Emma wants to continue to help her community in any way possible and wants to be a Godly example for other people. She gave advice to anyone that wants to grow their relationship with God as well.
“I love helping our community in any way possible,” she said. “I think it’s really important to try to be a Godly example for people. Not everyone has that example in their life, so it’s important to try to be one. My advice would be to get connected to your church and reach out and talk to someone, but most importantly, pray about it. I would love to pray with anyone who reaches out to me.”
She has several Godly role models that she looks up to and has learned so much during her journey.
“My Godly role models are my parents, grandmother, and Jessica Wheeler,” she said. “Throughout my journey, I’ve learned that you just have to trust that God has a plan for you. When something doesn’t go your way and you question it, you have to remember that God has something bigger planned for you. You have to put your trust in Him.”
