CULLMAN, Ala. – Victim Services of Cullman, a nonprofit that provides crisis response, recovery and prevention programs for families impacted by domestic violence, is gearing up for one of its most significant fundraising ventures of the year. The fourth annual Victim Services of Cullman Masquerade Ball set to take place on Thursday, Oct. 17, at Loft 212. This year’s event will run from 6-10 p.m., featuring dinner and a live and silent auction.

“Every dollar raised at the Masquerade Ball goes directly back into our programs to support victims and their children as they escape domestic violence,” VSOC Executive Director Jessica Atchley said. “We look forward to celebrating and making a significant impact in our community.”

Tickets for the ball will go on sale Aug. 12. Last year’s event raised an astounding $30,000 for local domestic violence victims, a goal that Atchley hopes to surpass this year. The night’s proceeds will directly benefit domestic violence victims in Cullman. Victim Services operates both an emergency shelter and a transitional shelter, offering support to clients for up to a year after removing themselves and their children from violent situations.

“According to crime.alabama.gov, Cullman ranks 10th in the state for reported domestic violence incidents. We serve over 500 individuals annually, providing essential services such as shelter, court advocacy, counseling and child advocacy,” shared Atchley.

Sponsorship opportunities for the ball are available to local individuals, businesses and organizations. Prospective sponsors interested in supporting the Masquerade Ball should contact Atchley at 256-775-2600 for more information.
