Mr. Roberts passed away on Tuesday, Jul 23, 2024 at his daughter’s home in Clanton. He was born in Ensley, near Birmingham, and was a graduate of Ensley High School. After high school, he worked for Cowan Construction, and was considered the go-to guy on the job. He then worked for the Jim Walter’s #5 Coal Mine in Brookwood near Tuscaloosa for collectively 25 years. Lastly, he went to nursing school and worked as a RN. Glen worked at UAB Hospital in the Neuro Intensive care unit, as well as a Hospice Nurse for nearly 17 years. He met his wife Rachel in the early 90’s, and after he retired, they moved to Smith Lake. For the next 15 years, they hosted numerous family gatherings and Christmas Get Togethers. One of Glen’s favorite activities was taking his family and friends out on the lake in his speedboat. He loved to take his grandkids tubing, often doing his best to throw them off. He was a pretty savvy billiards player, and enjoyed antiquing with his wife, and having a cold glass of mountain dew. Glen was Auburn football fan, and was a loving husband, father, and Paw Paw.
