AUBURN UNIVERSITY, Ala. – With the upcoming new school year comes a new group of talented, young leaders ready to serve Alabama 4-H. Thirty-one members from 20 different counties make up the 2024-2025 team of 4-H state ambassadors. Those selected as ambassadors serve as representatives of the organization, leading and assisting statewide with 4-H clubs and youth council meetings throughout the club year.

Joy Scott, an Alabama 4-H leadership and citizenship specialist, and 4-H Youth Development Coordinators Trent Carboni, Deborah Stewart and Kisha King serve as advisors to the state ambassadors. Scott said throughout their year of service, these members will have the opportunity to develop their skills in leadership, citizenship, public relations and team building.

“Working with the ambassadors each year is an extremely exciting part of my job,” Scott said. “I have the opportunity to witness first-hand how the ambassadors explore their personal 4-H spark on the county, regional and state level.”

Ana Kathrine Whisnant, the 2024-2025 4-H ambassador president, said she decided to step out of her comfort zone three years ago and apply to be a state ambassador. She wanted to give back to the organization that provided her with so many opportunities.

“This year, I am looking forward to working with an incredible group of ambassadors to ensure 4-H’er’s continue to grow and achieve their full potential through the Alabama 4-H thrive model,” Whisnant said.
