Seth Patrick Key. (Hanceville Police Department)

HANCEVILLE, Ala. — Early Wednesday morning at approximately 12:26AM, officers from both the Hanceville Police Department and the Wallace State Police successfully executed a joint operation of arrest. The operation resulted in the arrest of Seth Patrick Key of Mount Olive, Alabama. Mr. Key was taken into custody at the Quality Inn Hotel in Hanceville, across the street from the Wallace State College Campus.

Our Department was made aware yesterday that Mr. Key had felony warrants with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in connection with burglary. Mr. Key also had misdemeanor warrants with the Cullman City Police Department. Key was seen near the Wallace State Campus. Due to the Proximity of the Campus, Officer Doran quickly notified Wallace PD Officer Rasbury. Both Departments coordinated patrols on and around the City of Hanceville and the Wallace State Campus in an effort to apprehend Mr. Key.

During the arrest, Mr. Key was found to be in possession of what appeared to be burglary tools. He was transported to the Cullman County Jail and booked on his warrants with the City of Cullman.

This was made possible thanks to the wonderful working relationship we have with the Wallace State Police and the excellent officers at both. It also highlights the proactive policing among the officers in both departments.

Thank you to all officers involved for your hard work and dedication to the City of Hanceville and the Wallace State Police.
