Although the sales tax holiday primarily targets back-to-school shoppers, everyone can benefit from the savings. Essential items such as diapers, printer ink, thumb drives, printer paper and art supplies are also tax-exempt during this period.

“The sales tax holiday offers parents a way to save on back-to-school needs. Saving money for consumers while stimulating sales for stores is what this weekend is all about,” shared Rick Brown, president of the Alabama Retail Association.
