Local students named to Mississippi State University’s spring 2024 President’s, Dean’s Lists

MISSISSIPPI STATE, Miss. – Students on the President’s List at Mississippi State achieved a 3.80 or better grade-point average, based on a 4.0 scale, while completing at least 12 semester hours of coursework with no incomplete grades or grades lower than a C.

MSU’s spring 2024 President’s List includes 4,137 students who attained this honor, and the following local students are included:

  • Anna Frances Taffar, of Arab
  • Shea Eaton, of Cullman
  • Lindsey Lowery, of Hanceville
  • Mackenzie Gibbs, of Arab
  • John Quillin, of Arab
  • Isabella Warden, of Hanceville
  • Sarah Dockery, of Vinemont

Students named to the Deans’ List at Mississippi State must have achieved a grade-point average between 3.5 and 3.79, based on a 4.0 scale, while completing at least 12 semester hours of coursework with no incomplete grades or grades lower than a C.

MSU’s spring 2024 Deans’ List includes 2,364 students who attained this honor, and the following local students are included:

  • Isabel Newby, of Bremen
  • James Akin, of Hanceville
  • Jackson Lowery, of Cullman

Some names of students may not appear on this list as a result of student requests for privacy from publication through the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.

Local students graduate from Mississippi State University

MISSISSIPPI STATE, Miss. – Nearly 3,500 students are on the spring 2024 Graduation List at Mississippi State University.

The following local students are included in this honor:

  • Anna Frances Taffar, of Arab, received a Bachelor of Science Magna Cum Laude from MSU’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
  • James Akin, of Hanceville, received a Bachelor of Science Magna Cum Laude from MSU’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
  • Lindsey Lowery, of Hanceville, received a Bachelor of Business Adm Summa Cum Laude from MSU’s College of Business.

Lily Whitesell of Vinemont named to Rhodes College’s spring 2024 Honor Roll

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Lily Whitesell of Vinemont, was named to Rhodes College’s Spring 2024 Honor Roll.

To qualify for the Honor Roll, a student must be enrolled in at least 16 credits of academic work and achieve a semester grade point average of 3.85 or better. Those students who choose to take a course under the Pass/Fail option must have a minimum of 12 additional graded credits of work to be considered for this honor. Students who are enrolled in the Honors Program or independent Research and receive a grade of IP for that work will have their qualifying grade point average determined on all other graded work.

Local students named to Presidents, Dean’s Lists at UWA

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama has announced nearly 400 outstanding undergraduate students named to the President’s List for the spring 2024 academic semester.

Spring 2024 academic honors recipients represent 62 out of 67 Alabama counties and 83 counties from 19 other states.

The President’s List gives recognition to undergraduate students with exceptionally high grades for the semester, those with grade-point averages of 3.80 or higher, completing at least 12 semester credit hours, with no grade lower than a “C.”

Local students include:

  • Elijah Guyton of Cullman, majoring in Business Management, Class of 2026
  • Jordan Miller of Baileyton, majoring in Teacher Leader, Class of 2026
  • Sarah Palmisano of Arab, majoring in Elementary Education, Class of 2025

The University of West Alabama has announced nearly 500 outstanding undergraduate students named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2024 academic semester.

The Dean’s List gives recognition to those undergraduate students those with grade-point averages between 3.25 and 3.79, completing at least 12 semester credit hours, with no grade lower than a “C.”

Local students include:

  • Joseph Arriaga Aguilar of Cullman, majoring in Mathematics, Class of 2027
  • Jessica Simmons of Joppa, majoring in Special Education (K-6), Class of 2028

Raven Haynes named to Kennesaw State’s spring 2024 Dean’s List

KENNESAW, Ga.- Raven Haynes of Cullman has been named to Kennesaw State University’s spring 2024 Dean’s List in recognition of academic achievement.

Majoring in Digital Animation, Haynes is among more than 7,600 students named to the Spring 2024 Dean’s List. To qualify, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher and complete a minimum of nine credit hours.

Freed-Hardeman University announces spring 2024 President’s, Dean’s Lists

HENDERSON, Tenn. – Freed-Hardeman University has released the names of students who made the President’s and Dean’s Lists for the spring 2024 semester. To be on the President’s List, a student must be full-time and have a 4.0 grade point average. Students on the Dean’s List have earned a minimum 3.4 grade point average for the semester.

Local students who were recognized:

  • Gavin Boler, of Joppa, has been named to the President’s List. Boler is earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Information Systems.

Ethan Thomas, of Arab, has been named to the Dean’s List. Thomas is earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing.
