Funeral services for Randy Edward Johnson, 55, of Cullman, Alabama will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, June 24th at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Randy Booth will be officiating services. The family will welcome friends at Hanceville Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday.
Randy, a staple in his community, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2024 at his residence in Cullman. Born on August 25, 1968 in Cullman, Randy lived a life filled with passion, skill, and an enduring love for family and the outdoors.
A master carpenter by trade, Mr. Johnson was known for his exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. His work can be seen in many structures throughout the area, each piece reflecting his dedication and talent. In addition to carpentry, Randy had a special talent for painting and enjoyed capturing the beauty of wildlife and scenic landscapes with his brush.
His artwork adorned the walls of his home and the homes of many fortunate friends and family members. Fishing was one of Randy’s greatest joys. He spent countless hours on the water, sharing his love for the sport with friends and family. He also had a knack for working on lawn mowers, often spending countless afternoons tinkering and repairing them for neighbors and friends. His willingness to help anyone in need was a testament to his generous spirit and kind heart. Above all, Randy cherished his role as a grandfather.
He adored his grand babies and made it a priority to spend as much time with them as possible, creating memories that will be cherished forever. His gentle nature and playful spirit made him a favorite among the youngest members of his family. Randy had a profound love for the outdoors. Whether he was fishing, drawing, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature, he found peace and happiness outside.
His appreciation for the natural world was evident in everything he did.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his daughter, Kristi Johnson; grandchildren, Mikyla Benson, Jaxen Hill, Remi Sesma and Sofia Sesma; mother, Dorothy Johnson; sister, Debbie (James) Kincer; significant other, Crystal Chadwick; and a host of many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends, who will carry forward his legacy of kindness, skill, and love for nature. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Johnson, father, Bobby Johnson and grandparents, Emmerlee and Lurtis Johnson & Maggie and Timus McBrayer.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Clements, Michael Washam, Zach Latham, James Kincer, Jeff Jones, Dustin Williams, and Brent Quick.
