Good Hope City Council approves ordinance for subdivision rules & regulations

GOOD HOPE, Ala. – Good Hope’s City Council held its first June meeting at Good Hope City Hall Monday night and approved an ordinance to adopt rules and regulations in place for subdivisions that coincide with the current standards set by the county.

Section 1 of Ordinance No: 009-2024 states,

“These are adopted regulatory policies of the City of Good Hope pertaining to the construction of streets and/or drainage structures (including pipe requirements) for new roads or new subdivisions and/or other developments in Good Hope, Alabama located in Cullman County.”

Purpose

  1. To safeguard and provide for the public health, safety and general welfare of residents and property owners of Cullman County.
  2. To serve as guidelines for future growth and development of Cullman County.
  3. To protect the character, social and economic development of all lands in Good Hope and to encourage the orderly and beneficial development of property.
  4. To regulate public and private policy and action, in order to provide adequate and efficient transportation, streets and utilities.
  5. To establish reasonable standards of design and procedures for subdivisions in order to further the orderly layout and use of land and insure proper legal descriptions and monuments in subdivided land.
  6. To promote the eventual elimination of unsafe or unsanitary conditions.

The Good Hope City Council will hold its next regularly scheduled meeting Monday, June 24 at 6:30 p.m. at Good Hope City Hall.
