Vicki was born January 10, 1961, in Casper, Wyoming to Andy and Louise Spears.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Steve Spears.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jerry Smith; one daughter, Whitney Shubert (Justin) and her twin sister, Vivian Kassouf (Joseph).
Vicki was a woman of many talents and wonderful qualities. She had very strong faith in God and was active serving her church and community in any way she possibly could. After retiring, she mentored students at East Elementary School and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and continued to do so after her diagnosis. She was selfless in every way and touched those around her in a way only Vicki could. She spoke to others often of the influence that Jesus had on her life and her kind ways showed Him to others daily. She was very active and loved playing tennis. She participated in the Alabama State Tennis Tournament several times. Her #1 job and joy in life was being a mother. She loved to cook for her friends and family and never stopped being the nurturing mother she always had been. She was an avid animal lover, and especially loved cats. She will always be remembered by her family and friends as genuine, selfless, loving, giving, kind, and compassionate. She will be missed every day by those who knew and loved her.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in Vicki’s memory to the Link of Cullman County, the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, or Desperation Church.
