Peggy Joyce Thompson Sims, 86, of Vinemont, Alabama passed on from this life on May 20, 2024, at 10:16 a.m.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 23, 3 p.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home with Pastor Phillip Ashley officiating. Internment will follow the service at Bethlehem West Baptist Church Cemetery in Battleground, Alabama. A viewing will be on Thursday at Moss Service Funeral Home from 1-3 p.m.
Mrs. Sims was born on May 16, 1938, to Herman (Peg) Gurtis Thompson and Buena Lorene Cobb Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gerald Douglas Sims.
Mrs. Sims is survived by her three daughters, Janet Johnson, Susan (Mike) Graves and Rebecca (Al) Renteria; eight grandchildren, Brian Johnson, Mark Johnson, Christy (Jimmy) Parker, Keith (Heather) Graves, Kayla Graves, Cole Defoe, Carson Defoe and Alex Renteria; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Sims was a teacher at Vinemont Elementary school for 29 years. Her family has wonderful memories of her throughout their lives. Her presence and love will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.
