Hanceville cheerleaders this year ae Jo Vaughn, Hail Thomas, Belva Sue Johnson, Eleanor Gay Chappell, Margaret Johnson, Barbara Ann Johnson and Mona Ann Seibert.

Private A.P. Alvis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Alvis, formerly of Garden City was killed in Korea in late June. His body was shipped to Cullman last week. In addition to his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Vernon, Frank and Julian and three sisters, Mrs. Paul Ray Anderson, Vickie Alvis and Barbara Alvis.

Carolyn Peinhardt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Peinhardt won eight first place ribbons with her Guerneys in the Tennessee Valley Show and a trip to Toronto, California to compete with cattle showers from other countries.

Wesley Rhodes is recuperating in St. Agnes Hospital in Fresno, California following an accident which necessitated spinal surgery. He is the eldest son of John and Mutell Gilley Rhodes, former residents of Bethsadia.

Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Edwards of New Harmony are parents of a baby girl.

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ziegenbein and Rex of Norfolk, Nebraska are spending this week with Mr. and Mrs. C.V. McElroy and other relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. John Keller have returned home after spending several days in Columbus, Georgia with Mr. and Mrs. Burton Keller.

Mrs. Cortez Peeler and daughter, Peggy have returned from visiting Mr. and Mrs. Cal Peeler in Orlando, Florida.

Mrs. Nancy Mize was honored with a dinner last Sunday on the occasion of her 90th birthday.

A.B. Marsh of Union Hill has bought a new electric stove.

Reverend Virgil Sizemore preached at Enon last Sunday.

A daughter was born recently to Mr. and Mrs. T.E. Phillips.

Mr. and Mrs. Homer Huffstutler of Cullman announce the engagement of their daughter, Christine to Billy James Hodge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Hodge of Cullman.

Dating on Tuesday night were Ann Harbin and Ed Knight, Rebecca Hesterly and Harold Chandler, Mary Frances Zeinsmeister and Rayburn Parker.

Betsy Bridgesand and Virgil Fowler were spotted on Sunday afternoon.
