Tulip, The Cullman Tribune’s Pet of the Week, is a beautiful Shepard and Beagle mix. (Donna Ruttkay)

CULLMAN, Ala. – You could certainly try to tiptoe past this Tulip without falling in love, but her magnetic personality and antenna ears are sure to complicate that attempt.

Tulip is an approximately 3-year-old gentle mix of Shepard and Beagle with a short tan and black coat and deep mahogany eyes. She is a loving and affectionate dog, always eager to please her human companions. Her ears are the windows to her sweet soul, pointing and moving to and fro with every emotion. She is also quite intelligent and can be trained easily, making her a great addition to any family.

While this girl is the sweetest flower around, her medium to high energy level allows her to keep up with the most active of families on runs, hikes and vigorous trips to the dog park.

Leash etiquette is an old trick for Tulip, who navigates outings with a leash like a professional. Her joy and love for life extend to quality time spent with her people. She cherishes her alone time, which allows her to recharge and bask in the love of her companions on her own terms where she is comfortable.
