CULLMAN, Ala. – Feeling competitive? Want to support an impactful cause? Prepare to hit the trails with purpose at The Strong and Courageous Trail Race on Saturday, May 4, at Daystar Church in Good Hope. This event is designed not only for competition, but also to make a significant impact through its partnership with Crossing Over Jordan Ministry, which provides fully funded, transformative retreats.
Organized by Colton Terry of M3 Health and Performance, the race offers an individual 5K trail run and a dynamic two-person team challenge. All ages are permitted for the 5K.
“The name The Strong and Courageous Trail Race was very fitting for the race name. Joshua 1:9 calls for the Israelites to be strong and courageous as they face crossing the Jordan River. I felt this verse tied in perfectly with being strong and courageous as the participants run a trail 5K,” explained Terry.
Participants in the team challenge will navigate a 5K course peppered with six exercise stations, featuring varied weights to cater to different fitness levels, similar to a Spartan Race. The six exercise stations will cover anything from rowing, burpees, clean and jerks and more with more event details to come on race day.
Athlete check-in begins at 7 a.m., with registration priced at $65 for individual runners and $125 per team. Each registration includes a race shirt, commemorating the event and its cause. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams on race day. All proceeds from the event will be donated back to Crossing Over Jordan Ministry.
“It was on my heart to do something to raise funds to give to the ministry to help other people be able to come and experience a restful and restorative weekend, where they will be loved on and experience Jesus in a special way,” Terry explained. “I have held fitness competitions in the past at my gym and we have always had a great response from the community to support us. I knew they would do the same thing with this event.”

Terry shared his transformative experience with the ministry, saying, “COJ was life changing for me and my wife. We attended it last August and have been a part of the serve team ever since. It is refreshing each time we are at the Springville camp and conference center. We love the team, seeing the life change in the participants and being able to be the hands and feet of Jesus!”
